Advanced Learning Design: “Re-vision” your learning events for greater success using DE

Three-day course for graduates of Learning to Listen, Learning to Teach

You’ve experienced first-hand the transformative value of using Dialogue Education™ (DE) in the workplace, in the field, or in the classroom. Now you can deepen your knowledge of DE even further, and gain a direct and practical benefit: the successful redesign of a specific learning event you have planned – either a current training design or something brand new.

In this rigorous three-day course, you will be asked to bring a learning event you feel could be improved or a learning design you‘d like to create. Collaboratively, using the principles and practices of Dialogue Education, you will:

• work through the 8 steps of design to strengthen or design your learning event
• closely analyze and assess your learning event’s strengths and weaknesses; and- reconstruct the event to be more engaging, accountable, and effectively learning-centered.

Through this course, you will not only leave with a strong DE-based learning event, but also gain deep knowledge and practical methods to guide you in designing more effective learning programs in the future.

We invite you to our "train the trainer" workshop to become authorized to teach all of the components of Genuine Contact Program. Join a growing number of colleagues internationally who are working with the Genuine Contact Program, enabling organizations to be healthy and balanced.

Join us for the Genuine Contact International Mentoring Circle, September 25-30 at Highland Lake Cove, Hendersonville, North Carolina, USA. The mentoring circle will provide the opportunity to do one round of the Medicine Wheel Tool, examining what we know and want to know about:

• The Genuine Contact Co-owners Group, Inc and all of its beneficiaries including GC professionals and greater community operating as a Genuine Contact Organization (GCO)
• Leadership, co-leadership, and emergent leadership in action within a GCO
• Using strategic planning as a way to create a map together to harness the power of collaborative intention making
• What it takes to define community and to engage community
• Issues and opportunities for managing the Genuine Contact Co-owners Group, Inc. as a Genuine Contact Organization
• Development of proposals if any, for consideration by the Genuine Contact Co-owners Group
• Experience of a Five to Fold voting process

The mentoring circle and accommodation will take place in Highland Lake Cove, Hendersonville, North Carolina, USA. The meeting takes place in the Sanctuary, which has a meeting room on the main level, lots of space indoors and outdoors for breakout groups in nature, and a large kitchen and dining room on the lower floor.

Highland Lake Cove accommodation includes a dormitory style building with individual bedrooms and shared bathrooms. The Retreat House is attached to the meeting room by a walkway, in close proximity.

Although there is some communal space in the Retreat House, the ample gathering place is at the Sanctuary indoor and outdoor dining areas and around the large fire pit in the front of the building. This allows for evening activities around the fire, with noise kept away from those wanting to have quiet in their bedrooms. 

There is also the possibility of camping on the grounds with your own camping supplies. Beside Highland Lake Cove is Highland Lake
